A Movie that will lead to endless debate...

so i'll just being the discussion with SF...
even though i feel it kinda redundant... since
we think alike on some issues...

ok, here is my summary
*warning -- shatzy summary*

20-something female leaves home on mental trip
due to (no doubt) excessive childhood abuse/oppressions.
stays *vague* amount of time then returns to
hometown to relive childhood in a successive
mental state as 'controller of fate' (as opposed
to 'victim of circumstance) by getting involved
with employer in taboo nutshell.


i think i've justified my stance on the 'movie'
issue... everything from here on out will just
be giving further detail from what i've already
said.

now... if you want to pick apart issues from
the movie as appied to modern day convention...
it would be hard to do in as far as a discussion
of this movie goes.. since i have yet to see it.
the only way to do so is to pick out the relative
issues based on the summary and list them.

some key points are this:

<ul type="square">[*] although not clearly outlined as to the
root cause of her vacating the institution,
the 20-something must be over 21 to release
herself from any mental institution in the US....
legally speaking.[*] immaturity issues arise when one ponders
why a person would return to a place that brought
them to mental disarray... especially when that
trek back to the homeland is justified as a
quest for 'maturation'[*] obsessive crush(es).... (only supports my opinion...
but that is a separate issue)[*] relationships with older individuals[*] image/esteem/status issues in concerns with
personal perspectives (i.e. -- dating nerd,
relationship with boss, etc)[*] relationships with employers[*] masochism (some could argue sado-masochism)[*] self affirmation[/list]

if i have failed to point out any potential,
standard sociological issues within the contruct
of the summary... please inform.

otherwise...

we can begin to discuss the summary in and of itself,
(including my summary and others), or start on
an abstract of the movie issues in regards to
convention.

Although that seems to be a fair summation of pertinent story plot lines, I find it odd discussing a movie with someone who has not seen it.

I guess I don't follow the purpose of trying to critique a movie one has not seen.
